Fly

Getting to Meribel couldn't be easier, hop on a plane to Geneva (though we would not recommend Geneva), Lyon, Grenoble or Chambery, we'll arrange for a Purple Ski minibus or taxi to be there to meet you, which will whisk you to your chalet in less than two and half hours.

The nearest airport to Meribel is Chambery. This small airport is just over an hour from Meribel and for our UK visitors, is serviced by a growing number of low cost airlines.

Geneva is the main airport for Meribel, with numerous international flights from across the globe.

Two other airports convenient for Meribel are Lyon and Grenoble. For details of who flies where see the grid on the web site.

Our recommendation for guests arriving from the UK would be to fly with BritishAirways into Lyon. The start to your holiday will be more enjoyable but more importantly if they have to cancel you flight for, say, bad weather, they will have another flight which you can catch but the next low cost airline flight might not be until the next day.

For those departing from the UK, why not treat yourself to the Meet and Greet service offered by Purple Parking at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow (special prices available to Purple Ski clients) or use their Destination Airport parking at over 23 locations throughout the UK.

For the Meet & Greet service you drive straight to the terminal, leave your car with their chauffeur who will park your car in their secure car park. On your return, you are met at the terminal with your car. Simple!

For further information visit www.purpleparking.com or call 0845 450 0808 and quote source code PPSKI, for special prices.

Rail

For trains services via Paris to Moutiers Salins les Bains (approximately 20-30 minutes transfer to Meribel) from London Waterloo please visit the SNCFweb site

Transfers

The most popular way to get to Meribel from the Destination Airport or station is by the Purple Ski Transfer Service, where you will be transported by one of our drivers in an airconditioned Purple Ski minibus.  These transfers are only available on a first come first served basis (at extra - though very competitive - cost), so as they say, book early to avoid disappointment.

Alternatively, we will be more than happy to arrange a taxi to collect you from your destination airport or train station.

It is worth remembering that for four or more people a taxi is cheaper than the bus.  Purple Ski only uses Leray Taxis, the best taxi company in Méribel.

ATSAirport Transfer Services
If you are a smaller group of 1-3 people, a more economical method of travel is with ATS. However, you may have to share this service with others who are travelling in the same direction and there may be a short wait time. To book simply visit www.a-t-s.net.

Public bus transfers from Geneva and Lyon Destination Airports are readily available (approximately 4 services per day; change at Moutiers). Journey time is approximately 3 hrs 15 minutes from Geneva and 3hrs 55 mins from Lyon  If you are going to use the bus do check the times of departure before booking your plane tickets.

No scheduled bus service is available from Chambery; transfers will need to be by Purple Ski transfer, taxi or self-drive car hire.

For a transfer with a difference you can charter a helicopter to take you from the Destination Airport to Meribel. Not the budget method but the price is €1,800.00 for 1-5 people from Geneva each way and €1,900.00 from Lyon. For further details contact us.

By road

Méribel is only about 594 miles from Calais and this can make driving a convenient and economic way to get to the chalet, especially if you have a large party with lots of luggage. The roads are excellent, and the traffic problems, for which Méribel was infamous, have now largely disappeared. For directions to the individual chalets click on the links below.
